Today we will travel to Ireland!  Did you know there is holiday coming up that came from Ireland?  I'll give you some hints...you wear green, a shamrock is a symbol and you may try to catch a leprechaun!  It's St. Patrick's Day!  Can you find Ireland on the map?  It's bright green and it starts with an I!  Do you see it?



In Ireland they have a special dance called the Irish Step Dance.  Check out a video here and try it out at home!

Now let's read a story about catching a leprechaun!

I have a challenge for you!  Can you be an engineer and design a leprechaun trap?  What materials will you use?  (Ideas: boxes, string, straws, tape, empty canisters,  bottle caps, sticks, rocks, etc.)  Remember every good design starts with a plan, so draw your plan first.  Then start building!  I can't wait to see if you catch a leprechaun!  Ask your mom or dad if they can send Miss Anne a picture and she will post it on here tomorrow!
